22mm Olive Drab Rolled Canvas Strap upcycled from an Issued Military Bag Khaki Beige
Up for sale is a handmade 22mm rolled canvas watch strap made by me, Mott Straps.
The canvas used for this strap is from a vintage issued military duffle bag.
The strap measures 22mm with no taper, 85 mm x 135 mm and ~3.6 mm thick. The strap was saddle stitched with khaki/beige Tiger thread - the best waxed polyester thread in the business. The strap will come with two floating canvas keepers with an X stitch on top. I find that for canvas straps, having the stitch on top of the keeper is much more comfortable. Other strap makers make a butt-stitch and have to add a crazy amount of stitching to keep the keeper together.
Another difference on my canvas straps is that I skive (thin) the canvas where it meets the buckle end, on the underside of the strap. Most canvas straps are just cut and glued at that point. I find that skiving the canvas reduces the bulk near the buckle.
Holes for the strap start at 50mm from the lug end. More holes can be punched upon request.
The strap will include a custom Mott stainless steel Pre-V style screw-in buckle. I can swap out the steel buckle for a bronze buckle at no charge. Unless specified when purchased, the strap will ship with the steel buckle as shown.
